Arnenias population

Armenia's population of 2.97 million is shrinking at an annual rate of 0.08 percent. More Armenians (around eight million) live outside of Armenia than inside. Since 1993, more than half a million people have left Armenia in search of jobs. Diaspora Armenians remain very involved in Armenian politics and society. Ethnic Armenians comprise 98 percent of Armenia's population. Minority groups include Kurds (1.3 percent), Russians (0.5), Yezidis, Assyrians, and Greeks. Most people (64 percent) live in urban areas; approximately one-third live in Yerevan.
